Macbeth: Superstitions and The Supernatural

In France, saying cheers is not enough. (well it's santé for starters, which means health rather than happiness.) You must maintain eye contact,  you must clink glasses individually with each person on your group and you must not cross anyone else's arm as you do so. Time consuming and tedious.  People bother to do this because there is a very severe penalty for messing it up. "Seven years of bad sex, has said every french man and women."
